For instance, in Belgium the CPC leadership is supportingthe Grippe group, which was expelled from the party atthe last congress. In the United States support is given tothe subversive activities of the Left opportunist grouping“Hammer and Steel,” which has made battle against the CommunistParty of the United States its main aim. In Brazil,the Chinese comrades support the factional groups expelledfrom the Communist Party (as for instance, the Amazonas-Grabois group).In Australia, the CPC Central Committee tried to organizesplitting activities against the Communist party and its leadershipwith the help of a former member of the leadership,E. Hill. Hill, who visited the P.R.C. at one time, came outpublicly against the Communist Party of Australia and triedto line up a group of persons of his mind. When the CommunistParty of Australia expelled Hill from its Central Committeehe demonstratively removed himself to Peking.In Italy, Chinese representatives are encouraging the activityof the group formed by former functionaries of the Paduafederation of the Communist party, who issued leaflets provocationallycalling for a “revolutionary” uprising.578
