The Chinese leaders accuse the Communist parties of theUnited States and Western Europe of being “at one with themost adventuristic American imperialists.” The leadership ofthe Communist Party of India is invariably termed a “clique.”Levelled against the leaders of the Communist parties ofFrance, Italy, India and the United States is the monstrousaccusation of being “concerned for the fate of imperialism andall reactionaries.” And in its letter of June 14 the CPC leadershipsinks so low as to insinuate that the CPSU too “acts inthe role of an accomplice of imperialism.” So obvious is theabsurdity of this that no one but the Trotskyists has until nowever ventured to make such a slanderous charge against thegreat party of Lenin.Is it any wonder that imperialist propaganda rejoices at suchactions by the Chinese comrades? It is not by accident thatthe bourgeois press keeps shouting about a “crisis” in theworld communist movement and urges the imperialist governmentsto exploit in their own interests the differences causedby the stand taken by the CPC Central Committee.The representatives of the CPC resigned from the editorialboard of the World Marxist Review, the collective theoreticaland information magazine of the Communist and Workers’parties, and stopped its publication in the Chinese language,seeking in this way to deprive Chinese Communists of anobjective source of information about the activities of theworld communist movement.The splitting activities of the Chinese leadership in the ranksof the world Communist movement evoke rightful indignationand opposition of the fraternal Marxist-Leninist parties.The CPC Central Committee letter says that in any oneparty’s relations with fraternal Communist parties it is “impermissiblefor it to place itself above the other fraternal parties,impermissible for it to interfere in the internal affairsof fraternal parties. . . .” This is quite a good statement.
