Or are we, aware of the great responsibilitythat we bear for the destinies of our great cause, todirect developments along a different channel, and showenough courage to rise above all that divides us today, ceaseuncomradely polemics, and concentrate on a search for waysof consolidating militant Soviet-Chinese co-operation, of consolidatingthe friendship of all the fraternal Parties?We realize that any movement, including the communistmovement, is unthinkable without controversy. However, nodifferences, no displeasure at the behaviour of a particularParty, can justify methods of struggle detrimental to the interestsof the international communist movement. The deeperand broader our understanding of the aims and tasks of theinternational working class, the greater the vigour with whichwe should strive to analyse our differences, however seriousthey may seem today, quietly and relevantly, and preventthem from interfering with our positive work, from disorganizingthe revolutionary activities of the international workingclass.Let us struggle together for consistent adherence to theMarxist-Leninist course in the international communist movement,against revisionism and dogmatism, for closer unity inthe ranks of the international communist movement, for respectfor collectively worked out policies, and against any violationsor arbitrary interpretations of these.Our Party does not succumb to the heat of the polemicstruggle but, aware of our common responsibility to the worldcommunist movement, wishes to stop the dangerous processof sliding into a new series of discussions. It is obvious toeveryone that we could have found much to say in defenceof the Leninist policy of the CPSU, in defence of the commonline of the international communist movement, in replyto groundless attacks made in articles recently carried by theChinese press.
