daily weaker and the contradictions among them daily sharper,it is possible for the socialist countries to compel one imperialistcountry or another to establish some sort of peaceful coexistencewith them by relying on their own growing strength,the expansion of the revolutionary forces of the peoples, theunity with the nationalist countries and the struggle of all thepeace-loving people, and by utilizing the internal contradictionsof imperialism.While persevering in peaceful coexistence with countrieshaving different social systems, we unswervingly perform ourproletarian internationalist duty. We actively support the nationalliberation movements of Asia, Africa and Latin America,the working-class movements of Western Europe, NorthAmerica and Oceania, the people’s revolutionary struggles,and the people’s struggles against the imperialist policies ofaggression and war and for world peace.In all this we have but one objective in view, that is, withthe socialist camp and the international proletariat as thenucleus, to unite all the forces that can be united in order tofor a broad united front against U.S. imperialism and itslackeys.On the basis of the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence,the Chinese Government over the past ten years and morehas established friendly relations with many countries havingdifferent social systems and promoted economic and culturalexchanges with them. China has concluded treaties of friendship,of peace and friendship or of friendship, mutual assistanceand mutual non-aggression with the Yemen, Burma, Nepal,Afghanistan, Guinea, Cambodia, Indonesia and Ghana. Shehas successfully settled her boundary questions with Burma,Nepal, Pakistan, Afghanistan, etc., questions which were leftover by history.No one can obliterate the great achievements of the ChineseCommunist Party and the Chinese Government in upholdingLenin’s policy of peaceful coexistence.274
