in capitalist countries, of the struggle for national liberation,and the ways of transition of all mankind to socialism.This is how the Chinese comrades depict our differences onthis issue: one side — they themselves — stands for world revolution;the other side — the CPSU and the Marxist-Leninistparties — has forgotten the revolution, even “fears” it and,instead of revolutionary struggle, is concerned with such things“unworthy” of a genuine revolutionary as peace, economicdevelopment of the socialist countries and improvement oftheir peoples’ living standards, the struggle for the democraticrights and vital interests of the working people in capitalistcountries.In reality, however, the line of division between the viewsof the CPC and those of the international communist movementlies on an entirely different plane: the CPC leaders speakof world revolution where necessary and where not, andflaunt “revolutionary” phrases on every occasion, often withoutoccasion, whereas the other side — those whom the Chinesecomrades criticize — approach the question of revolutionseriously and, instead of highfalutin phrases, are perseveringlyworking to find the most correct paths for the victory of socialism,paths that accord with the conditions of the era, andare devotedly fighting for national independence, democracyand socialism.Let us examine the principal views of the Chinese comradeson the problems of the present-day revolutionary movement.Will it help the countries and peoples to pass over to socialismif, in the name of “world revolution,” they abandon thestruggle for peace, the policy of peaceful co-existence andpeaceful economic competition, the struggle for the vital interestsof the working people and for democratic reforms incapitalist countries? Is it true that in advocating peace andpursuing a policy of peaceful co-existence, the Communists ofthe socialist countries are concerned only for themselves andare oblivious to their class brothers in the capitalist countries?564
