INCE the 20th Congress of the CPSU Khrushchov andS other comrades have talked more about the question ofpeaceful coexistence than about anything else.Again and again the leaders of the CPSU claim that theyhave been faithful to Lenin’s policy of peaceful coexistenceand have creatively developed it. They ascribe to their policyof “peaceful coexistence” all the credit for the victories wonby the peoples of the world in prolonged revolutionarystruggles.They advertise the notion that imperialism, and U.S. imperialismin particular, supports peaceful coexistence, andthey wantonly malign the Chinese Communist Party and allMarxist-Leninist Parties as being opponents of peacefulcoexistence. The Open Letter of the Central Committee ofthe CPSU even slanders China as favouring “competition inunleashing war” with the imperialists.They describe the words and deeds by which they havebetrayed Marxism-Leninism, the proletarian world revolutionand the revolutionary cause of the oppressed peoples and nationsas being in conformity with Lenin’s policy of peacefulcoexistence.But can the words “peaceful coexistence” really serve asa talisman for the leaders of the CPSU in their betrayal ofMarxism-Leninism? No, absolutely not.We are now confronted with two diametrically opposedpolicies of peaceful coexistence.One is Lenin and Stalin’s policy of peaceful coexistence,which all Marxist-Leninists, including the Chinese Communists,stand for.The other is the anti-Leninist policy of peaceful coexistence,the so-called general line of peaceful coexistenceadvocated by Khrushchov and others.261
