HE present article will discuss the familiar question ofT “peaceful transition”. It has become familiar and haseverybody’s attention because Khrushchov raisedit at the 20th Congress of the CPSU and rounded it into acomplete system in the form of a programme at the 22ndCongress, where he pitted his revisionist views against theMarxist-Leninist views. The Open Letter of the CentralCommittee of the CPSU of July 14, 1963 once again struckup this old tune.In the history of the international communist movementthe betrayal of Marxism and of the proletariat by the revisionistshas always manifested itself most sharply in theiropposition to violent revolution and to the dictatorship of theproletariat and in their advocacy of peaceful transitionfrom capitalism to socialism. This is likewise the case withKhrushchov’s revisionism. On this question, Khrushchov isa disciple of Browder and Tito as well as of Bernstein andKautsky.Since the days of World War II, we have witnessed theemergence of Browderite revisionism, Titoite revisionism andthe theory of structural reform. These varieties of revisionismare local phenomena in the international communistmovement. But Khrushchov’s revisionism, which has emergedand gained ascendancy in the leadership of the CPSU, constitutesa major question of overall significance for the internationalcommunist movement with a vital bearing on thesuccess or failure of the entire revolutionary cause of theinternational proletariat.For this reason, in the present article we are replying tothe revisionists in more explicit terms than before.361
