Thus, Marxism-Leninism will undoubtedly befurther enriched, developed and raised to new heights.THE WAY TO DEFEND AND STRENGTHEN UNITYThe revisionism and great-power chauvinism of the leadersof the CPSU are an unprecedented menace to the unityof the socialist camp and the international communist movement.By taking a revisionist and great-power chauvinistposition, the leaders of the CPSU are standing for a split.So long as they maintain such a position, they are in factworking for sham unity and a real split no matter how volublythey may talk of “unity” and abuse others as “splitters” and“sectarians” .The Chinese Communist Party, other Marxist-Leninist Partiesand all Marxist-Leninists persevere in Marxism-Leninismand proletarian internationalism. This position is the onlycorrect one for defending and strengthening the genuine unityof the socialist camp and the international communist movement.Marxism-Leninism and proletarian internationalism constitutethe basis of that unity. Only on this basis can theunity of fraternal Parties and countries be built. Such unity354
will be out of the question if one departs from this basis. Tofight for Marxism-Leninism and proletarian internationalismis to work for the unity of the international communist movement.Persevering in principle and upholding unity areinextricably bound together.If the leaders of the CPSU genuinely want unity and arenot just pretending, they should loyally abide by the fundamentaltheories of Marxism-Leninism and by the Marxist-Leninist teachings concerning classes and class struggle, thestate and revolution, and especially proletarian revolution andthe dictatorship of the proletariat. It is absolutely impermissiblefor them to substitute class collaboration or classcapitulation for class struggle, and social reformism or socialpacifism for proletarian revolution, or abolish the dictatorshipof the proletariat no matter under what pretext.If the leaders of the CPSU genuinely want unity and arenot just pretending, they should strictly abide by the revolutionaryprinciples of the 1957 Declaration and the 1960 Statement.It is absolutely impermissible for them to substitutetheir own Party programme for the common programmewhich was unanimously agreed upon by the fraternal Parties.If the leaders of the CPSU genuinely want unity and arenot just pretending, they should draw a sharp line of demarcationbetween enemies and comrades and should unite withall socialist countries, all fraternal Marxist-Leninist Parties,the proletariat of the whole world, all oppressed people andnations and all peace-loving countries and people in order tooppose U.S. imperialism, the arch-enemy of the people ofthe world, and its lackeys. It is absolutely impermissible forthem to treat enemies as friends and friends as enemies, andto ally themselves with the U.S. imperialists, the reactionariesof various countries and the renegade Tito clique againstfraternal countries and Parties and all revolutionary people,in the vain pursuit of world domination through U.S.-Sovietcollaboration.355
