ARTICLE 102Accession of new Member States to the European Union1. The EPA Committee shall be informed of any application from a third country to join theEuropean Union. During the negotiations betwe<strong>en</strong> the European Union and the candidate country,the EC Party shall provide the C<strong>en</strong>tral Africa Party with any relevant information, and the C<strong>en</strong>tralAfrica Party shall inform the EC Party of its concerns so that they can be tak<strong>en</strong> fully into account.The C<strong>en</strong>tral Africa Party shall be notified of any accession to the European Union (EU).2. Any new Member State of the European Union shall accede to this Agreem<strong>en</strong>t as of the dateof its accession to the European Union by means of a clause to this effect in the Act of Accession. Ifthe act of accession to the European Union does not provide for such automatic accession of th<strong>en</strong>ew EU Member State to this Agreem<strong>en</strong>t, the Member State concerned shall accede to thisAgreem<strong>en</strong>t by depositing an act of accession with the G<strong>en</strong>eral Secretariat of the Council of theEuropean Union, which shall s<strong>en</strong>d certified copies to the C<strong>en</strong>tral Africa Party.3. The Parties shall review the effects of the accession of new Member States of the EuropeanUnion on this Agreem<strong>en</strong>t. The EPA Committee may rule on any transitional measures oram<strong>en</strong>dm<strong>en</strong>ts necessary.<strong>CE</strong>/<strong>PAC</strong>/<strong>en</strong> 103
