of the Common Land. In the Ice World, the frozenness of despair so to speak “wallpapers” the
person’s entire being in the world in his/her “drama of suffering”. In its most intense appearance
it is the form of space in the sense of outsideness and isolation, in feeling of inner lightlessness,
even lifelessness.
The Spiritual Home, finally, is the meaning of space in the (most) ontological
extent.
It is shaped as a “result” of becoming health when the human being can feel connected
with the very core of his/her inner as well as outer placeness in being in the world.
Depending on internal or external factors each of the metaphorical formations is also suggested
to be generally understood as a kind of good or bad, i.e. healthy or non healthy “time-out” or a
“getaway” from suffering as well as really a space for the alleviation of one’s suffering. Each of
these specific metaphors - as an explicit space formation in the movement of mental health and
suffering - is a manifestation of the nature of a person’s existential situation in the continuum of
life and death, good and bad. These are the human being’s unique - although even paradoxical -
way of conceiving reality, and mastering the spiritual suffering. They “condense” characteristic
structures and patterns of dynamic scenery, which take place within the movement of health, and
moreover, in which, and also through which, a person makes efforts towards an authentic homecoming
and rootedness in his/her being.
In support of the empirical results (interview study), the following conclusions concerning the
nature and meaning of the Common Land in the world of caring are suggested: 1) Every human
being is an interpersonally
connecting link in the caring communion, in which it is a vital part of
the
spatiality formed as the Common Land. 2) In the movement of health and suffering a human
being’s inner space is influenced by the outer space, and vice versa. 3) The interpersonal
reciprocity means nourishment for the spatiality, without reciprocity there is no space of the
Spiritual Home kind in interpersonal meaning. However, if there is only intrapersonal (private)
spatiality as the underpinning of the Common Land, then the space is definitely going to be split
up in different parallel “rooms”. On the other hand, if only the Spiritual Home is the
underpinning, then there is no real connection of spatiality in external meaning. 4) The Common
Land contents a freedom of time where a spiritual rest and safety expands the space in the
direction of infinity and boundlessness, i.e. in the sense of “timespace”. 5) The Common Land is
open to everyone; it does not exclude anyone and is truly welcoming. 6) The Common Land does
