and run on any type <strong>of</strong> server platform that is supported by the s<strong>of</strong>tware<br />

which can interpret the business rule description.<br />

1. The LRS shall enable the integration <strong>of</strong> proposed and third party<br />

applications, as appropriate.<br />

2. The LRS shall, to the maximum extent possible, make extensive use <strong>of</strong><br />

tables<br />

3. The LRS shall contain table-driven fields that appear in a standard<br />

format, such as in a drop-down menu, and are written in plain text and<br />

easily understood (e.g., no table codes, “disabilities” instead <strong>of</strong> “05”).<br />

4. The LRS shall include a secure interface that allows COUNTYspecified<br />

Users the ability to update business logic and reference<br />

information (tables).<br />

5. The LRS shall allow COUNTY-specified Users the ability to make<br />

corrections or modifications to text-based forms within the LRS (e.g.,<br />

NOAs) without the assistance <strong>of</strong> technical programmers.<br />

6. The LRS shall use the correct version(s) <strong>of</strong> reference tables in order to<br />

apply the correct rules in determining eligibility status and benefit<br />

calculations, based on rules and edits in effect for the time period(s)<br />

being evaluated.<br />

7. The LRS shall maintain all versions <strong>of</strong> reference tables so that they are<br />

available for viewing by COUNTY-specified Users.<br />

8. The LRS shall ensure that any reference tables within the LRS crossreference<br />

each other in order to validate information across<br />

corresponding reference tables and across screens in the LRS.<br />

3.4.4 Data Management.<br />

The Data Interchange Layer and Data Management Layer together provide<br />

the structure (i.e., schema), the contents, and the administration <strong>of</strong> the LRS<br />

Data., In accordance with COUNTY standards, the underlying database<br />

management system (DBMS) shall be fully relational and support current<br />

industry standards (e.g., ODBC, OLTP, OLE-DB, ADO). The DBMS<br />

shall <strong>of</strong>fer full referential integrity and support American National<br />

Standards Institute Structured Query Language (ANSI SQL) standards.<br />

The LRS shall include a multi-platform commercially available database<br />

management system. The DBMS solution selected by CONTRACTOR<br />
