15. The LRS backup and recovery solutions shall support a variety<br />

<strong>of</strong> media types that may include tape, disk, CD-ROM, and DVD.<br />

16. The LRS shall encrypt all data that exists on backup media.<br />

17. The LRS shall include a strategy for securing backup media<br />

during transit and storage.<br />

18. The LRS shall create and maintain log files <strong>of</strong> all backups in<br />

order to detect anomalies and errors in the backup processes.<br />

3.8 LRS CONVERSION AND ARCHIVING REQUIREMENTS:<br />

The LRS shall include an automated data conversion and archiving strategy that<br />

assures data integrity. The data conversion and archiving strategy shall be<br />

included in the Conversion and Archiving Plan and shall depict a process that<br />

analyzes source files, determines data requirements, extracts appropriate data,<br />

identifies and corrects data exceptions, and loads the appropriate databases for<br />

subsequent LRS activities. The archiving <strong>of</strong> DPSS Systems data, DCFS Systems<br />

data, and other legacy data, shall be fully integrated into the Conversion and<br />

Archiving Plan, since DPSS Systems data, DCFS Systems data, and other legacy<br />

data must be moved out <strong>of</strong> their current environments and be placed in<br />

environments accessible to Users through the LRS. The design <strong>of</strong> the archiving<br />

method shall be the same that is used to archive LRS Data.<br />

The conversion and archiving <strong>of</strong> DPSS Systems data, DCFS Systems data, and<br />

other legacy data that is unnecessary (e.g., closed cases) for LRS online activities,<br />

as specified by COUNTY, shall be completed prior to the start <strong>of</strong> Countywide<br />

implementation. The conversion <strong>of</strong> DPSS Systems data, DCFS Systems data, and<br />

other legacy data that is necessary for online LRS activities, as specified by<br />

COUNTY, shall be completed during Countywide implementation.<br />

A complete comparison <strong>of</strong> data fields and definitions between the DPSS Systems<br />

data, DCFS Systems data, and other legacy data and the LRS Data shall be<br />

completed as soon as a data structure is identified for the LRS. The data<br />

comparison shall be performed in Phase 1 (Design/Development/Implementation<br />

Phase). The Conversion and Archiving Plan shall set forth in detail how data<br />

mismatches will be handled without interruption to current processing in the<br />
