On 5 July 2007, the neighbors of victims Aniz Molla, Lutfannesa Bibi and Mirjan Molla attacked
them with iron rods and bamboo and wooden sticks. The victims were sent to Mathurapur Rural
Hospital for treatment. Mirjan and Aniz suffered serious injuries and were admitted to the hospital
for seven days. The victims attempted to lodge a complaint with the Mathurapur PS, but the
police would only record a General Diary entry.
On 6 July 2007, the same neighbors ransacked and damaged the victims’ house. Another
attempt was made to loge a complaint at the PS, but again the officer would only record a General
Diary entry.
The victims filed a case against the police under section 156 (3) Criminal Procedure Code,
before the Court of Learned Additional CJM.
On 23 August 2007, the victims were again attacked by the same neighbors. When they tried to
loge a complaint with the police, they again recorded only a General Diary entry.
