Bag’s father registered a General Diary entry with the Nimta PS on 2 January 2007 and 4
January 2007. The gang threatened to kill Bag and his family if they pursued a case against
them. They attacked the Bag residence on 11 March 2007 and 12 March 2007.
On 18 March 2007, the gang attempted to beat Bag’s father when he refused to sign papers that
would have dissolved the case against the gang. That same day, Bag’s father registered another
General Diary entry with the Nimta PS.
According to Bag’s father, the police did not properly pursue the complaints. Although the police
arrested Satya Rupananda Maharaj and some of his gang, they were released on bail.
Bag’s father then filed a FIR with the Nimta PS, and the case was ultimately sent to the Nimta PS
Inspector in Charge. The Nimta PS Inspector in Charge had a good relationship with Satya
Rupananda Maharaj and he did not pursue the case.
