tearing her clothes and trying to molest her. When Dipali Chakraborty resisted, they injured her
daughters. Dipali Chakraborty was so shaken that she now cannot spend nights alone.
The ASIs similarly entered Prova Bose’s house when her husband Sanjoy Bose was not
home. They beat Prova and her one-year-old daughter. They broke the daughter’s feeding
bottle and used the broken glass to cut Prova’s left hand before kicking her in the lower abdomen.
Prova Bose was badly injured and afterwards was bedridden.
In both of the cases, the ASIs were drunk. Though they were from Lake Town PS, they
committed these abuses in Moira Bagan and Lal Bagan, which are under the jurisdiction of Dum
Dum PS.

Case Details:
Victim Firoza Bibi is married to Aiaz Biswas (alias Aziz Biswas).
On 6 July 2006 at 9.20pm, a Company Commandant and between ten and twelve other BSF
officers of Battalion No. 140 of Dayarampur BSF Camp suddenly attacked Aiaz Biswas’s
house. Aiaz Biswas was away at the time, and Firoza Bibi was alone. The officers entered the
house and ransacked it. When Firoza Bibi protested, they beat her with sticks. Firoza Bibi had
many black spots all over her body, and her left hand started bleeding.
On 7 July 2006, Firoza Bibi was admitted to Sadikhan’s Dearh Rural Hospital, Jalangi Block,
Murshidabad, for treatment.
A complaint was lodged at the Jalangi PS.
On 8 July 2006, Firoza Bibi was discharged.
Aiaz Biswas lodged a written complaint with the SDO (Domkal Sub Division).
