Gour Haldar has told one of his friends, Sushanta Mondal, that he was beaten in custody.
The fact-finding team learned that Japai Naskar’s family had neither filed an FIR nor a complaint
against Gour Haldar or anyone else detained by the police.

On 11 March 2007 in the evening, some CPI(M) supporters were returning by bus from their
party meeting at Bridged Parade Ground, Kolkata. Some people suddenly stopped the bus and
threw garbage onto the people inside the bus. Some of the passengers received injuries to their
eyes.
Harendra Nath Majhi was not involved in the incident, but some people from Ajodhya village filed
a complaint (Case 12/07, dated 11.03.07) against him at Jangipara PS u/s 341/325/427/506 IPC
(wrongful restraint of a person, voluntarily causing grievous hurt to extort property or to constrain
to an illegal act, criminal intimidation).
