Accordingly, the police interrogated Chakrabarty in the presence of Humayun Kabir and Rajib<br />

Kumar at the CID Office, Bhabani Bhaban, Kolkata. During the interrogation, the officers punched<br />

Chakrabarty.<br />

At the DDI Office, Kharagpur, officers Partha Sarathi Mukherjee, Dipak Sarkar, Pandit Babu, and<br />

Shib Nath Babu (as well as other officers) also interrogated Chakrabarty. They forced him to sign<br />

several blank papers and fabricated seizure lists. The police did not give Subhankar Chakrabarty<br />

any copies of these documents.<br />

On 9 September 2007, CID officials brought Chakrabarty to the Belpahari PS, where they took<br />

his picture and incorrectly recorded his age as 33.<br />

Additionally, a group of policemen in commando uniforms took Chakrabarty to a forested location<br />

where a bomb had exploded in 2006. There, they took Subhankar Chakrabarty’s picture in<br />

different poses. The FIR related to the bomb incident does not include Chakrabarty’s name.<br />

The barbaric police attack on group of journalists aided by hooligan elements at Barasat State<br />

General Hospital while the journalists went to the place to cover the news of newborn baby who<br />

died by the negligent acts of hospital authority.<br />

The hospital authority did not listen to queries of the journalists instead they tried to remove them<br />

from there by applying force with the police assistance. Police resorted to lathi charge on them.<br />

As a result of this, some of the journalists were severely injured.<br />

On 13/07/07, the Police officials of Barasat PS arrested Abhranil Mukherjee and others victims,<br />

later they were released by executing personal bail bond.
