Echhahaque Seikh ignored the notice.<br />

Some influential persons of the local ruling political party started threatening Echhahaque Seikh<br />

that if he did not pay the amount they would snatch his property.<br />

Echhahaque Seikh lodged a written complaint with the Superintendent of Police of Berhampur,<br />

Murshidabad. No action has been taken.<br />

Case Details:<br />

Victim Farida Parvin, age 14, resides in Sultanpur village. She is a student in Class IX at<br />

Madhurkul Higher Secondary School.<br />

On 2 August 2006 at 10.00am, Farida Parvin was going to school when Hasibul Islam, Hadul<br />

Hakim Mondal, and Chandmon Bibi forcefully kidnapped her.<br />

That, Farida Parvin’s family members went in search of her. Some local people informed them<br />

about the kidnapping. They went to the house of the perpetrators, where they learnt that Farida<br />

Parvin had been transferred to an unknown location in Bihar.<br />

On 3 August 2006, Farida Parvin’s family registered a complaint at the Domkal PS.<br />

On 8 August 2006, Farida Parvin’s father Abdul Bari went to the Domkal PS again. There, he<br />

lodged another complaint in which he included the registration numbers of the motorcycles used<br />

in the kidnapping. OC Premangsu Chattaraj and SI Sakhauddin Shaikh accepted the complaint<br />

but did not record all of the details before forcing Abul Bari to sign.<br />

The OC later asked Abdul Bari to pay Rs. 20,000 to secure Farida Parvin’s rescue.<br />

Meanwhile, Jabed Mondal and Alauddin Mondal went to Sultanpur village on a motorcycle and<br />

threatened Abdul Bari and other villagers. When the villagers protested, Jabed Mondal and<br />

Alauddin Mondal fled.<br />
