(listopad 2008) Anna Skrzypek 1 Kraśnik Przedstawienie Christmas time Przedstawienie wystawiłam z moją klasą w grudniu 2007 roku i spotkało się ono z dużym aplauzem. Bodźcem do napisania tekstu przedstawienia były trudności ze znalezieniem tekstu dla starszych uczniów – gimnazjalistów – który byłby dla nich interesujący i na odpowiednim poziomie językowym. Role poszczególnych postaci są krótkie, dlatego nawet mniej zdolni uczniowie są w stanie się ich nauczyć. Dodatkowo przedstawienie jest przeplatane świątecznymi piosenkami, więc każdy uczeń z klasy może się wykazać (także ci, którzy nie mają roli mówionej). Bardzo mile wspominam czas przygotowań do przedstawienia i samo wykonanie przed publicznością. Mam nadzieję, że ktoś inny będzie chciał skorzystać z mojego pomysłu. Christmas time Song about Christmas time – for example „Santa clause is coming to town” Narrator: The first star is going to shine in a moment. Today is Christmas Eve – one of the most important days in our life. We are at the Simpsons’ home. What are they doing now? Are they preparing for the Christmas Eve? Let’s have a look and see. There are three children on the stage. One boy (Mark) is playing a computer. Two girls (Olivia and Ann) are standing in front of a mirror. Olivia: Maybe this one is better? She’s trying a skirt. No I’m too fat for this one. Ann: Come on, it’s not so bad? Olivia: Oh great!!! Look at me! I have nothing to wear for the New Year’s party. I must start go on a diet. What do you think? Mother comes in with a boy (Kevin) playing with a ball. Mother: Girls, could you help me? Olivia and Ann: Oh, mum, we are really busy now. Mother: Kevin! Don’t play with a ball. You’ll break something. Kevin: Don’t worry, mum. I’m the best player in the world and I’m careful. The ball falls down and something breaks. Mother: Children! Can you help me? This house’s a mess and we’ve got nothing to eat for Christmas dinner. Olivia: Mum! Don’t cook anything. Just make a salad because I’m starting a diet. Mother: Again! But it’s Christmas. Kevin, can you go to the shop and get some fish, please? I think a carp will be the best. Kevin: Mum, you know I hate fish. Can’t we eat something more edible? What about a pizza or Chinese food? She’s calling and ordering pizzas: One vegetarian, two margaritas, salami, a salad and a big cola. Meantime father comes in and starts watching TV. Mother: So we’ve got dinner, but there’s still a mess and we don’t have a Christmas tree. John, could you go down and bring the Christmas tree and decorations please? Father: Not now! I’m watching a football match! Mother: Great! Do what you like, I’m leaving! Father: Mark! Can you go and fetch the tree, and don’t forget about the decorations! Mark: Dad I’m really busy! Father: Doing what? Mark: I’m texting my friends? I must send them season’s greetings. It’s Christmas. Father’s leaving. The doorbell rings. Olivia: Can someone answer the door? I think the pizzas have arrived. Ann opens the door and there’s Santa Clause. Santa Clause: Ho ho ho! Merry Christmas! Are there any good children here? Children: Oh, Santa Clause! Come in! Santa Clause: What’s going on here? Aren’t you celebrating? I’ve brought you some presents but where’s your Christmas tree? Ann: Really! You’ve got presents. I was dreaming about a new MP3 player – my one is so old fashioned. Santa Clause: Yes, of course, I’ve got MP3 players, great mobile phones and play station games. There is more. He looks into the bag. Teddy bears and… and… He pulls out a beautifully packed box. This one is the most valuable, priceless. He gives mentioned presents to children. Children: What’s this? Santa Clause: It’s Christmas! Children: Christmas? What do you mean? Santa Clause: Real Christmas, the most beautiful and warm day of the year! Ann: My MP3 player is not so bad… and the real Christmas… that sounds quite intriguing. Mark: I was thinking about a new mobile phone, but real Christmas… it’s a great idea. Children give back presents. Santa Clause: I think it’s the best choice. Let’s sing a Christmas song! They are singing „Silent night” in the meantime the stage decoration changes. The Christmas tree and a big table appear. Mother comes in. Mother: Kids! Could you help me with the decorations, please? Any volunteers? Mark and Kevin: We will, Mum. Where are the baubles and lights? Mother: There, but Kevin please be careful, they’re fragile! Kevin breaks a bauble. Mother: Oh, Kevin! Kevin: Don’t worry mum, it brings good luck. Father comes in. Father: Who’s going to help me lay the table? Olivia and Ann: We will, Dad! Girls are laying the table with a white tablecloth. Father: Let’s put it under the tablecloth. Olivia: What’s this straw for? Father: It’s not straw. It’s hay! We put it under the tablecloth to remember that Jesus was born on hay in a stable. Ann: We’ve got carp, beetroot soup, bigos, bread… Mum, why do we need as many as 12 dishes? Mother: It’s tradition. As you know there were 12 disciples. Each dish is very important. Serving them all brings good luck and prosperity for the New Year. O, please put more plates out, your grandparents are coming, and don’t forget one extra for a newcomer. O: Newcomer? Is it also a tradition? Mother: Of course. An extra plate should be always ready for somebody who has lost their way or has nowhere to go. On the day like today you should have your heart and doors open for everyone. Grandparents arrive. Grandparents: Merry Christmas! Merry Christmas everyone! Grandma: The house looks beautiful. You have thought of everything: a Christmas tree, decorations, a white tablecloth, twelve dishes and hay. But I have brought something else. Without this Christmas wouldn’t be Christmas. Mark: What is it, granny? Grandma: It’s a Christmas wafer – an opłatek. 169
