These documents contain selections from the personal and professional papers of Cordell Hull,<br />

America’s Secretary of State from 1933 to 1945. The papers have been filmed as 118<br />

microfilm reels and consist of correspondence, memoranda, State Department reports, desk<br />

diaries, speeches, and press releases.<br />

2.2.5 McKittrick Papers (Harvard University, School of Business Administration,<br />

Historical Collections, Baker Library, Boston, Massachusett)<br />

Thomas H. M. McKittrick (1889–1970) was elected president of the Bank for International<br />

Settlements (BIS) in 1939 and remained in office until 1946. The collection of his papers,<br />

given to Harvard University in 1969 by his wife, is divided into two Series. Series 1 contains<br />

personal papers dealing with family and private affairs. Series two is comprised of McKittrick’s<br />

business papers, principally from his tenure as president of the BIS. Within the collection as a<br />

whole, the documents are organized into boxes and, within the boxes, they remain in the files<br />

created by McKittrick h<strong>im</strong>self or by the BIS.
