C. Color: Black or natural.
PART 3 - EXECUTION
3.1 EXCAVATION
A. Refer to Division 31 Section "Earth Moving" for excavating, trenching, and backfilling.
3.2 PIPING APPLICATIONS
A. Flanges and unions may be used on aboveground pressure piping, unless otherwise indicated.
B. Underground fire water drainage piping (gravity) NPS 6 and smaller shall be the following:
1. Solid-wall Schedule 40 PVC pipe, PVC socket fittings, and solvent-cemented joints.
C. Underground, fire water drainage piping (gravity) NPS 8 and larger shall be the following:
1. Solid-wall Schedule 40 PVC pipe, PVC socket fittings, and solvent-cemented joints.
D. Aboveground fire water drainage force mains NPS 1-1/2 and NPS 2 shall be any of the
following:
1. Steel pipe, pressure fittings, and threaded joints.
E. Aboveground fire water drainage force mains NPS 2-1/2 and NPS 6 shall be the following:
1. Steel pipe, pressure fittings, and welded or threaded joints.
F. Underground fire water drainage force mains NPS 4 and smaller shall be the following:
1. Steel pipe, pressure fittings, and welded or threaded joints.
