SECTION 033000 - CAST-IN-PLACE CONCRETE
PART 1 - GENERAL
1.1 SUMMARY
A. Section includes cast-in-place concrete, including formwork, reinforcement, concrete materials,
mixture design, placement procedures, and finishes.
B. Related Sections:
1. Division 05 Section “Metal Fabrications” for embedded items.
2. Division 31 Section “Earth Moving” for drainage fill under slabs-on-grade.
1.2 ACTION SUBMITTALS
A. Product Data: For each type of product indicated.
B. Design Mixtures: For each concrete mixture. Submit alternate design mixtures when
characteristics of materials, Project conditions, weather, test results, or other circumstances
warrant adjustments.
1. Indicate amounts of mixing water to be withheld for later addition at Project site.
2. Provide documentation of design compressive strength per ACI 301.
C. Steel Reinforcement Shop Drawings: Placing drawings that detail fabrication, bending, and
placement. Include bar sizes, lengths, material, grade, bar schedules, stirrup spacing, bent bar
diagrams, bar arrangement, splices and laps, mechanical connections, tie spacing, hoop spacing,
and supports for concrete reinforcement.
D. Wall Formwork Shop Drawings: Prepared by or under the supervision of a qualified
professional engineer detailing fabrication, assembly, and support of formwork. Drawings shall
be stamped by a Washington state licensed engineer.
E. Wall Formwork Calculations: Prepared by or under the supervision of a qualified professional
engineer for support of formwork. Calculations shall be stamped by a Washington state
licensed engineer.
F. Construction Joint Layout: Indicate proposed construction joints required to construct the
structure.
1. Location of construction joints is subject to approval of the Buyer’s Technical
Representative.
G. Welding Procedure Specifications (WPSs) and Procedure Qualification Records (PQRs):
Provide according to AWS D1.4/D 1.4M, “Structural Welding Code - Reinforcing Steel” for
each welded joint qualified by testing, including the following:
