PART 1 - GENERAL

Conditions and Division 01 Specification Sections, apply to this Section.
1.2 SUMMARY
A. This Section includes TVSSs for low-voltage power, control, and communication equipment.
B. Related Sections include the following:
1. Division 26 Section "Wiring Devices" for devices with integral TVSSs.
2. Division 26 Section "Panelboards" for factory-installed TVSSs.
1.3 DEFINITIONS
A. ATS: Acceptance Testing Specifications.
B. SVR: Suppressed voltage rating.
C. TVSS: Transient voltage surge suppressor.
1.4 SUBMITTALS
A. Product Data: For each type of product indicated. Include rated capacities, operating weights,
operating characteristics, furnished specialties, and accessories.
B. Product Certificates: For transient voltage suppression devices, signed by product manufacturer
certifying compliance with the following standards:
1. UL 1283.
2. UL 1449.
C. Qualification Data: For testing agency.
D. Field quality-control test reports, including the following:
1. Test procedures used.
2. Test results that comply with requirements.
3. Failed test results and corrective action taken to achieve requirements.
