3. Before any testing is to commence, the Fabricator shall present a detailed test procedure
to the Buyer for review and approval.
3.4 VALVE INSTALLATION
A. Install shutoff valve at each connection to the Main KW facility.
B. Provide access where valves and other equipment are not exposed.
C. Install valves with stems upright or horizontal, not inverted.
D. Install the valve actuator and valve stem extensions in accordance with the drawings and
manufacturer’s instructions.
E. Install check valves to maintain correct direction of flow as indicated on the system P&IDs.
F. Install pressure regulators on piping where reduced pressure is required.
G. Install pressure relief valve and full-size discharge piping to designated drains.
3.5 HANGER AND SUPPORT INSTALLATION
A. Comply with requirements in Section 220548, Vibration and Seismic Controls for Plumbing
Piping and Equipment, for seismic-restraint devices.
B. Comply with requirements in Section 220529, Hangers and Supports for Plumbing Piping and
Equipment, for pipe hanger and support devices.
C. Vertical Piping: MSS Type 8 or 42, clamps.
D. Individual, Straight, Horizontal Piping Runs:
1. 100 Feet (30 m) and Less: MSS Type 1, adjustable, steel, clevis hangers.
2. Longer Than 100 Feet (30 m): MSS Type 43, adjustable, roller hangers.
E. Multiple, Straight, Horizontal Piping Runs 100 Feet (30 m) or Longer: MSS Type 44, pipe rolls.
Support pipe rolls on trapeze. Comply with requirements in Section 220529, Hangers and
Supports for Plumbing Piping and Equipment, for trapeze hangers.
F. Support horizontal piping within 12 inches of each fitting and coupling.
