1.7 EXTRA MATERIALS
A. Furnish extra materials that match products installed and that are packaged with protective
covering for storage and identified with labels describing contents.
1. Gaskets: One set for each access door.
2. Fan Belts: One set for each air-handling unit fan.
PART 2 - PRODUCTS
2.1 MANUFACTURERS (ECRT-AHU-501)
A. Basis-of-Design Product: Subject to compliance with requirements contained in Section
012513, Product Substitution Procedures, provide product indicated on Drawings or
comparable product by one of the following:
1. Carrier Corporation; a member of the United Technologies Corporation Family.
2. McQuay International as the basis of design
3. Miller-Pickering
4. Temtrol
5. Trane; American Standard Inc.
2.2 UNIT CASINGS
A. General Fabrication Requirements for Casings:
1. Forming: Form walls, roofs, and floors with at least two breaks at each joint, minimum
2” thick double wall assembly.
2. Casing Joints: Sheet metal screws or pop rivets.
3. Sealing: Seal all joints with water-resistant sealant.
4. The inner and outer panels shall be fabricated of G90 Galvanized-Steel Casings minimum
18 gauge.
5. Airstream Surfaces: Surfaces in contact with the airstream shall comply with
requirements in ASHRAE 62.1-2004.
6. Fabricate unit with 16 gauge channel posts with panels secured with mechanical
fasteners.
7. All panels, access doors, and shipping sections shall be sealed with permanently applied
bulb-type gasket.
B. Casing Insulation and Adhesive:
1. Materials: Minimum R-13, injected foam insulation or ASTM C 1071, Type II.
Insulation shall carry a 25/50 rating for flame spread/smoke developed per ASTM E-84,
UL723, and NFPA-90.
2. Location and Application: Encased between outside and inside casing.
