The LF transmitter in Podebrady (50 km east of Prague) was used during our
experiments. The output power of this transmitter is 80 kW. The antenna is
of a T-type, its height is 150 m and its efficiency is about 20%.
We used frequency 111.8 kHz for our experiments. The frequency with the
appropriate bandwidth has been notified, because it was used by the Czech
Army Meteorological Service.
DENMARK/FINLAND EDXC - We are now back from the 41st Conference of the
European DX Council held in the city of Vaasa, western Finland, on
September 05-07. It was a very nice gathering of 112 persons from 12
countries supported by excellent weather.
The well organized conference was a good mixture of lectures about
hardcore DX-ing and more relaxing items. Finland is the leading country in
the world regarding MW-DX-ing and it has the only active, private SW
broadcaster in the Nordic countries. Read my report in the next Shortwave
