ahead at midnight between on May 31 and June 1 to observe daylight saving
time. In the meantime, South Africa decided not to pursue daylight saving
time after much speculation.
Also, Pakistan has just started DST of UT+6, which absurdly puts it a
semihour ahead of India, which is east of Pakistan, rather than a semihour
behind India.
Has all this been confirmed by monitoring, as the split frequencies might
imply? We already had a report that the English at 1100 had shifted one UT
hour earlier to 1000 due to unanticipated DST from June 1, suggesting that
the entire external service schedule might have as well.
Please check at 1500 to see if the other English broadcast is on then,
instead of 1600 UT, and check then too to reconfirm.
Following the change to DST in Pakistan, the 1100 UT English news bulletin
on 15100 and 17835 kHz (and webcast) is now heard at 1000 UT. Heard here
today (1 June) on 17835 kHz with poor audio.
R. Pakistan schedule shifted or not? No trace of English here at 1600-1615
UT. But I'm hearing Urdu at this time on 7530 (which used to start at
1700). So its probably all one hour earlier now.
Re: Pakistan & Morocco on DST - one hour earlier shift from June 1st.
Sorry, read your mail too late. Checked at 1600 and 1700 UT. The only
txion from RP noted here is 7530 kHz, started Urdu at 1600 UT, now with
S=9+20 dB strong signal til - seemingly - 1800 UT.
No RP // broadcast noted, neither 2nd Urdu channel close to 9385-9390, nor
Farsi around 7500v kHz. 9390 was covered by RL Uzbek scheduled from Udorn-
THA 1600-1700 UT.
