installations form part of a program now in progress to upgrade the AM
medium wave band facilities by replacing the obsolete vacuum tube
transmitters with new energy efficient equipment that is also capable of
125 percent positive peak modulation, something that increases the
coverage of the stations as compared with what could be achieved with the
old transmitters.

5009.77 Radio Cristal Internacional/Radio Pueblo transmitter, Santo
Domingo; at 2350-2352 UT on 18 Mar. I only had literally two minutes to
check, but it was there again witha soft Spanish male vocal. Gone by 0010
recheck. Pueblo was live when relayed via the MW audio, whereas Cristal
was seemingly canned as a hobby for an international audience. ID
notwithstanding, this seems to be the latter. I saw an Anker Petersen log
of this made two days before me (he listed it as unidentifed, but he also
presumed it to be this to be the one). Still, nobody stateside is hearing
this? Shocking!
