Montserrat I ran across the following about R Australia Brandon.
November 1986 WRTH Newsletter (Pacific Report from Robert Jones)
"The government has approved construction of R Australia Townsville. The
site (147 20E, 19 30S) is actualy 5 km north of the village of Brandon on
the western outskirts of the town of Ayr and 80 km SE of Townsville. Three
10 kw Lyndhurst transmitters have been moved to the site and work has
commenced on three 1 (wide) X 2 (high) curtain antennas with 85deg beam
width to cover PNG and the Solomon Islands. The station should be ready in
the second half of 1987".
