SAUDI ARABIA Mistaken or new frequency was on Aug 30th at 1100 UT with
ID Koran Kerim on 9640 kHz, // 11935, 17615, 21495 kHz. At same time their
prgrs were heard as usually: Second prgr on 11855, En 15250, Indonesian
21670 etc.
On Aug 31st at 0400 UT 2nd prgr was on 9580JED // 9675 heard, and at 0610
UT on 9675 // 11855JED for example.

9640 was a maintenance check ON AIR by the engineer for the Turkistani sce
check later in the afternoon 9640 at 1500-1800 UT to zones 23-26,30-
35,40,42-45 RIY 500kW 40deg.
I guess they have now eight powerful 500 kWs to their disposal at Riyadh

SERBIA 7199.95 Old Stubline 10 kW unit noted with S=3 signal around
1030 UT, noted tiny in Germany, but just readable Serbian language
discussion...

Radio Novi Sad with pop mx prgr with DJ heard 1810-1830 UT on MW 1269 and
it was own prgr in Serbian from NoviSad on Aug 22nd. QRM from non-stop
Greek folk songs - another pirate? So there are in MW on 1304, 1385 and

SOLOMON ISL. 5019.86 SIBC (presumed), 1329-1354, Sept 1, poor
reception, struggling around threshold level, but can say it was clearly
in English and sounded like British accents, so assume relay of BBC. In
the recent past when I checked here I only found an open carrier with no
audio, so today was a big improvement. As we get more into the DX season
this should become more readable, just as Bhutan/BBS has improved
recently.

SPAIN Odd frequency COPE 1394.1 kHz. Ein Sender der spanischen Kette
COPE funktioniert offensichtlich nicht korrekt und produziert eine
unerwuenschte Nebenausstrahlung in schauerlicher Qualitaet, die jetzt um
2330 UTC auf ca. 1394.1 kHz zu hoeren ist.

SWAN ISLAND/USA 1160 CIA mw station.
If the Kneitel-based story appearing in EI in the 1960's is correct, a map
was shown of North America showing the alleged DA pattern of Swan on 1160,
roughly a figure-8 with two nulls, one right towards SLC UT and the other
symmetric, to Mexico, and the eastward lobe somewhat bigger than the
westerly one. I recall they did this with two towers. So perhaps KSL had
no issue with Swan, as to real interference (vs. just a statutory
objection), I just don't recall.
