In 1999, the govt of Chad liberalized bcing on the FM band thereby making
it possible for groups and individuals to establish FM stns in Chad.
Today, besides the govt owned RNT FM stn, three local non-govt controlled
FM stns can be heard in N'Djamena.
Also heard in N'Djamena are the local downlink relays on FM from several
other countries. These FM relay stns include Cameroon Radio Television
(CRTV), Africa No.1 from Gabon, RFI Afrique from France, and the BBC
African Service. There are half a dozen other privately owned FM stns in
Chad, mostly in the south of the country.
Radio bcing is crucial for the dissemination of information in Chad. It is
the main source for nx and entertainment right throughout the country for
most people due to the fact that the national television stn in Chad,
"Teletchad", is available only in the capital city area.
As a finale to this DX report from Livinus Torty in Chad, we might mention
that it seems to be very difficult in obtaining a QSL from the SW stn in
their capital city. The AWR collection in Indianapolis contains not even
one QSL from Chad.

CHINA SW Service of V.O.Jinling is extended for 30 minutes at 1155 to
1430 UT (ex1155-1400 UT) on 5860 kHz. It is blocked until 1400 UT by Radio
Farda.

DENMARK Danmarks Radio hat seine Sendezeit auf der Mittelwelle
Kalundborg 1062 kHz weiter reduziert. Nach Informationen des daenischen
Medienjournalisten Stig Hartvig Nielsen entfiel zum 03.12.2007 der ab 2245
Uhr ausgestrahlte Seewetterbericht, dem jeweils ab 2300 Uhr noch eine
Uebernahme der Nachrichten des Programms P4 folgte. Verblieben sind jetzt
nur noch aehnlich ablaufende Sendungen ab 0545, 1145 und 1745 Uhr Ortszeit
sowie eine weitere Morgensendung, die als Kuriosum bereits um 0830 Uhr mit
einem Gymnastikprogramm beginnt.
Urspruenglich wollte Danmarks Radio die Mittelwelle ganz aufgeben, erhielt
hierfuer jedoch keine Zustimmung durch das daenische Kulturministerium,
das ihre weitere Nutzung bis zum Jahre 2010 fordert. Das hierfuer
konzipierte, jetzt weiter eingeschraenkte Minimalangebot besteht in dieser
Form seit dem 15.02.2007. An diesem Tage hatte Danmarks Radio seine
Langwelle 243 kHz abgeschaltet, wollte die hierfuer in Kalundborg
installierte Sendetechnik allerdings betriebsbereit erhalten.

EGYPT 9250 R Wadi el Nil, at 2020 UT on Dec 19, Arabic talking about
Sudan. It turned out to be a local network called Nile Valley R from
Cairo. Yes, it is an Egyptian network beamed to Sudanese living in Egypt.
I heard it on // MW 1107 and it was the same stream. First time to hear
that station on the shortwave band!
