There seems to be some confusion regarding frequencies for IRIN Radio. The
A08 Sentech schedule that appeared via Alokesh Gupta was incomplete:
The heading RFI (Radio France International) was missing and the four RFI
transmissions on 11830, 15170, 17525 and 7160 were incorrectly attributed
to IRIN Radio instead.
Perhaps this happened when you were tidying up the schedule for
publication? The original schedule I sent to Alokesh is attached.
PS: It's interesting to note that I've already received a reception report
from somebody who claims they heard IRIN Radio on 7160 kHz!!!
(Kathy Otto-AFS, HF Coverage Planner, Broadcast Transmission Engineering,
Sentech Ltd, dxld Apr 10)
This happened at my end while converting the excel file to text. Will send
a correction note to all concerned.
(Alokesh Gupta, India, ibid.)
So the ONLY IRIN broadcast via South Africa is the one to Somalia at 1730-
1745 on 9665 kHz. (gh, dxld)
SWEDEN 11590 (ex 11540) In order to avoid (seemingly) interference from
adjacent "Voice of Mesopotamia" on 11530, R Sweden plans to replace 11540
by 11590 in 1600-1700 UT slot.
11590 1500-1600 Swe/En, 1600 Aramaic-Assyrian[Thur/Fri]/Persian[Mon-Wed],
1630 Kurdish[Mon-Fri]. From 1700 UT still on 11540 kHz.
TAJIKISTAN 17562.00 Typical odd frequency of Voice of Tibet from Oslo,
Norway, noted at 1100 UT today Apr 11. Accompanied jammer fetched it late
around 11.04:20 UT on 17560.00, latter came on air within seconds after s-
on with Firedrake music.
2 UKW-Frequenzen in Kiev uebrig.
(Paul Gager-AUT, A-DX)
As Olexandr Yegorov wrote in open_dx yg, from the 1st of April
(unfortunately, no connection with the fool's day ;)) the following
transmitters of the Ukrainian Radio have been switched OFF, perhaps till
the end of 2008:
UR2 "Promin'": 549 kHz - Kyyiv, Mykolayiv, L'viv, Vynnytsya.
UR3 "Kul'tura": 657 kHz - Chernivtsi (partially; the new schedule is 1700-
2130 UTC incl. relay of RUI in Roumanian 1700-1730, 1930-2000 &
2100-2130).
837 kHz - Kharkiv. 1242 kHz - Donets'k.
