SWITZERLAND 531 The Swiss mediumwave transmitter at Beromuenster on 531
kHz is to close by the end of 2008, as it no longer complies with
stringent regulations on electromagnetic radiation. The 600 kW transmitter
has in recent years been operated at the reduced power of 180 kW. In 2003
the antenna feeder cable was damaged by lightning. It was planned to
replace it, but the plans were cancelled because of protests from local
residents.

Surely means Ch'ang-chih site:
22 41 23N, 120 34 37E 4-mast array for 927 kHz
22 41 44N, 120 35 02E 4-mast array for 1521 kHz
I don't know what Ta-Han refers to. It could be a minor place name, but
the official address of the Ch'ang-chih station is given as No. 1 Pa-te
Lane, Jung-hua Village, Ch'ang-chih Township, P'ing-tung County (spellings
in different sources will probably vary because of the Taiwan romanisation
muddle).
I think now both frequencies might be using less than 1500 kW now
supposedly 1000 kW on 927 and 400 kW on 1521 kHz.

TANZANIA 11735 R. Tanzania, Dole, Zanzibar, afternoon of 20 July,
Swahili, selection of varied music, ranging from Arabic style to East
African pop like, prayer; no recorded log, so no SINPO, but I'd rated it
as fair-good in strength, no QRM. On one brief occasion, R. Transmundial
in Brazil seemed to be "wanting" to be heard too... This was via a 41 m
inverted V here at home, so no chance to select either Africa or
SoAmerica, vy. low angle or higher angle.
