non-governmental organisations seeking to promote access to information in<br />

rural areas. Their presence has often spawned listening clubs accused of<br />

tuning in on "illegal" foreign news bulletins broadcast on shortwave.<br />

Batteries are almost unavailable in Zimbabwe.<br />
