LAOS 4412.6 Sam Neua from 1100 recording start w/ decent carrier but no
real audio until 1125 when hrd some type of Laotian mx pgm fading in and
running to 1200 w/ man ann. At 1200 intro inst music fol by man ann w/
what sounded like nx pgm with actualities, etc. from 1201.5 to 1214 UT.
Woman and man anns 1214 to 1229 UT. Woman ann 1229-1230. Strong but not
overwhelming CODAR QRM, but otherwise low noise lvls. SINPO 23442. Signal
improved slightly from 1125 to 1230 UT end of recording.

MADAGASCAR KNLS say that they soon will be broadcasting an additional
30-35 hours from their new station in Madagascar in at least three
additional languages _ Arabic, Spanish and Portuguese. The construction in
Madagascar is on schedule. The guardhouse and staff home are built and
painted. As of September 12, the floors of the transmitter building were
being poured and the walls were expected to go up shortly.
Two members of the Malagasy staff visited the U.S. this past summer to
learn to dismantle and assemble the new transmitters. This experience will
enable them to assemble and install the transmitters when they arrive in
Madagascar. Hurricane Ike has delayed the shipment of two 40-foot
containers from Houston, although the containers were not damaged in the
storm.

antenna towers are up and the wire will begin to be stretched in January
2009.
