Transmitter noise of a loud hum from Saudi Arabia is now news.BSKSA Bangla from from 1200-1500 UTC on 17820 kHz (500 kW) is just an example. I have been noticing it for the last couple of years. Earlier it was a DX curosity but now this noise makes the frequency unusable. Iran Bangla on 6025kHz 0030-0130 UTC also suffers from transmitter hum. It was a trace of a noise earlier but is increasing in intensity. May be one day this transmitter noise will make this channel unsusable.Keep watching. My email was forwarded to the Riyadh shortwave technical staff and he has forwarded their reply which says in part: "We faced unstable electrical mains supplying our transmitters for a few days, which might have affected our transmission. We took an action against this problem by repairing the affected transmitter that broadcast the two mentioned frequencies. Please advice us if the mentioned problem was cleared and if the programs are normal." I had mentioned 15205 and 11915. Just checked 15205 and it is fine, as is the transmitter on 15435, which was also buzzing though not interfering with other channels.
