INDIA AIR Itanagar 4990 Back.
AIR Itanagar 4990 kHz which has been off the air for some time now was
heard s.on at 0025 with a tx hum and rather low level modulation. After
about 10 minutes the station went off the air. However in our S.Asian
evenings good and normal mod when tuned in at 1330. Appears to have
repaired the tx and ironed out bugs. Mar 13.
[later] They could be running lower power than listed Jari. I hear them
morning 0030 better but always the coch Chinese over it. They used to be
strong at their 0025 s.on and I loved their NEastern music especially the
Sunday morning religious music. Station was there at 1600.but at 1645 both
Itanagar and Aizawal off.

4990 is rather weak here at 1600 on 13 Mar, just wonder if they're running
lower power than earlier. They used to be ok few months ago. And how about
5050 AIR Aizawal. A real rare catch here for several years. To me it
sounds they're running 1 kW or less. Or do they have some extremely
directional antenna system, and I'm off beam?
I wonder if you could check the US Psyops station Radio Solh from
Afghanistan on 6700. They seem to be rather irregular, but at times logged
here during UT afternoon 1400 before/after. If you can catch them, it
would be most interesting to see if they announce the station location.
They're mostly music but around H+25 onwards there's at times id's and BOH
news. The language of course is Dari and/or Pashtu.

INDONESIA 3987.04 RRI Manokwari 1400-1430 UT on Mar 8. SCI at 1400,
then short Jak program ending at 1406 UT, followed by M ancr, then
Arabic/subcontinental-influenced vocal music; no anmts heard from 1408-
1430 UT tuneout. Pretty good signal but QRM'ed by hams above and Echo of
Hope below on 3985 kHz.
4920 RRI Biak 1402-1427+ Mar 9. Jak theme music at 1402 (to end relay?),
then into program of vocal music. Fair/poor signal not rising above the
band noise.

RRI was good on 60 meters, March 8; it helped a lot to tune in an hour
earlier than I usually do, at 1304: 4605 Serui was best at S9+20 with
warta berita, // 4790 Fak2, and at 1306 also // 4920 Biak when M&W were
talking, still in news, I think. However at 1305, 4870 Wamena was in music
not // the others. At 1308, 4605 heard mentioning "RRI [pronounced air-
air-ee]. . . warta berita".
At 1351, 4605 was still holding up well with music and more flutter than
before, also 4790 with not // music, and CODAR worst there; also at 1351,
4920 was somewhat stronger than 4870. Missing was 4750 Makassar, even at
the earliest 1304 check. There were also some Chinese frequencies audible,
interspersed. VOI 9526 was missing this date before and after 1400 UT.

La Voix de Indonesie ID at 1915 UT on approx 11785 kHz, but rumbling with
later rised and dominated WHarvest Radio, at 2000 UT IS, ID in En of VOI
and mixing with WHR also in En (Mar 9).
