hear R. Moldova also on 1494 kHz.
(Mauno Ritola-FIN, Jan 22)
Radio Moldova has moved from 1494 to 1485 kHz. Heard November 23 from 2120
UTC and again November 25 from 1720 UTC with "Radio Moldova Actualitati" -
news, weather and sports. Probably this is to avoid QRM from the Russian
High Power Station at Krasnyy Bor near Petersburg carrying VOR programmes
on 1494 kHz.
MONACO 18 Jan at 1402 UT while scanning the bands, noted presumed
National Anthem on 8728 USB. This was followed by female announcer "This
is Monaco Radio.." She gave the sched of weather forecasts. At the end
"...brought to you by the Principality of Monaco and Naya" Gave website
then Anthem and off.
The HF sched was a mixture of French time and GMT. I guess it was like
this: Western Med 0930, 1403, 1930 French time (should then be 0830, 1303,
1830 UT)
Eastern Med 1030 GMT
Atlantic 0930 GMT
All on channels 403, 804, 1224 and 1607 which means frequencies 4363,
8728, 13146, and 17260 kHz.
As earlier reported by others, Monaco Radio didn't sign-off at the end of
2007 but is still audible.
MOZAMBIQUE When I was in Uganda I could make record of three stations
only: R Mocambique Manica, via Chimoio (1026 MW? Ed) presumed only (50kW),
R Mocambique Zambezia, via Quelimane on 1179 MW (50 kW) and R Mocambique
Niassa, via Lichinga on 1260 MW (50 kW). I never heard these stations ID-
ing as "emissora provincial", but "Radio Mocambique" + State / Department
instead i.e. "Radio Mocambique Niassa". I wondered why the other stations
did not show up. The Niassa station just by the way radiates a very
powerful signal and they were audible until 0430 UT = 0730 LT, what is
perfect daylight in Uganda already.
