An RNZI technician has just returned from Vila where preparation work has
been underway for installation of the two new DRM/analog transmitters
later this year.
The frequency of 7260 kHz is one of several registered for VTBC for the
new service and the current broadcasts appear to be a prelude to the full
service starting as soon as the new transmitters are installed.

I did note a weak signal on 7260 at 0810 tune in, music which seemed to be
under modulated and what seemed to be a female announcer, slightly better
modulated. Most likely Vanuatu as no one else seems to be sked at that
time.
Checked for a signal again at 1045, still there though very weak, then
obliterated by Thailand at 1100 UT, Sept 24.

YEMEN Radio Yemen was heard in Sofia on 6135 kHz between 1350 and 1500
hours with news in Arabic at 1400 hours. Radio Yemen had been received
often on 9780 kHz during the past few months.

I woke up a little early this Saturday Sept 20th,
some minor logs of 49-16 mb during 0600-0715 UT slot.
7220 RFI Issoudun Hausa 0600-630 UT, strong S=9 at least,
is S-08 operation since Sept 7th only.
Also RFI French 7135 extended, 0600-0700 UT, same level.
6060 RHC En, S=5-6, strongest Cuban in our European morning.
wonderful Cuban orchestra music. 0615 UT
6045 KBS Spanish via Sackville-CAN, 0600-0630 UT, S=7
5965 Vatican Radio in En at 0635 UT, suffers by a hot whistle
tone of 1000 Hertz like from v5964.00 kHz. Most probably
from REE Cariari de Pococi, latter til 0800 UT operation.
9440 BBC ASC in Hausa, S=5-6 signal and deep fades at 0638 UT.
9615 RNZi in En, weak, S=3-4 [RA 9580 is much stronger at same time]
deep fades at 0639 UT.
9690 Radio Tatarstan [Rossii] outlet in Tatar/Russian via Samara site
at 0600-0700 UT, S=8-9 level.
9885 DWL Sines in Hausa, S=5-6 on back lobe into central Europe.

11900 DRM digital signal, from Bulgarian Radio Sofia at 0654 UT.
0600-1200 UT scheduled.
