I think the other R Nikkei 3925 transmitter is located at Nemuro,
Hokkaido, not at Sapporo, while the other 3925 tx site is at Nagara
(Chiba). Schedules tell that whenever Nemuro is on the air, there's also
Nagara tx on the same channel.
As the programs are same, one can't recognize one tx from the other.
Except when Nemuro is off, one can say he heard Nagara. I believe there is
no local ID's for the two tx sites.
(Jari Savolainen-FIN, dxld Dec 18)
Jari's conclusion is true. Hokkaido Relay Station of Radio Nikkei (former
NSB) was constructed in August 1961 at Sapporo [43 06 37 N 141 21 44 E]
with the call sign JOZ4 to avoid the skip phenomenon on 3925kHz in
Hokkaido Area. The transmitter site was moved to Memuro [43 19 25 N 145
34 30 E] in October 1995. JOZ4 is now over NEC HFB-7840 transmitter with
10 kW, transmitting simultaneously with JOZ (50 kW) at Nagara site on 3925
kHz.
(Takahito Akabayashi-JPN, wwdxc BC-DX TopNews Dec 19)
So, 'simultaneously' is the key word. (wb)
Re R. Nikkei-1, Hokkaido Transmitter station-Nemuro (ex Sapporo). The skip
zone countermeasure station of the Nagara.
