ARGENTINA/VENEZUELA 15345-not - Since Monday Aug 25th RAE is OFF on
shortwave, only on Internet stream at present.
RAE Buenos Aires - Kurzwellensender defekt.
Time Signal stations:
LOL Buenos Aires, 34 36 19.3 S, 58 21 17.6 W
the antenna is apparently located on the premises of the Naval Observatory
(judging from listening to their only left transmission, 1400-1500 UTC,
while walking from the city centre to the observatory) at 34 36 19.3 S, 58
21 17.6 W. The observatory is the white building on the street corner. The
building to the left is also part of it (parking etc). There are several
tx towers on its premises (as everywhere around Buenos Aires) so I can't
be sure which one is actually used for shortwave. There was no obvious
entry to the observatory, three locked gates but no bell to ring, so maybe
I will know more when they respond to my email ...
YVTO Caracas, the Observatorio Cagigal at 10 30 12.6 N, 66 55 45.0 W.
Again, there are several towers, one prominently at 10 30 12.22 N, 66 55
42.07 W. See also the Panoramio images!

A GE search for the Instituto Oceanografico de la Armada in Guayaquil,
Ecuador, leads to 02 09 32 S, 79 52 48 W. It remains unclear whether this
is the tx location for HD2IOA.
DCF-77 Mainflingen 50 01 00 N 09 00 25 E
MSF Anthorn 54 54 40 N 03 16 29 W
MSF Rugby (former site) 52 21 29 N 01 11 17 W
Is there somewhere a collection of tx sites of Utility or AM stations,
just like the handy excel sheets for SW BC which we have on the yg
website?
