KAIJ DEMISE? Removal of the KAIJ transmitting facility? If you drive by
the site along U.S. Highway 380 you can easily see that it is being
rapidly overtaken by urban sprawl from the Dallas suburbs. The land alone
might be worth quite a bit. When the facility was built in the early 80's,
it was WAY out in the country. Big question is: will they find another
site, or just fold up operations completely?

A few weeks back, I took the opportunity to visit the silent shortwave
station WJIE, the old WJCR, which is located at Millerstown in Kentucky.
The son of the founder, Don Powell Jr, states that the shortwave facility
was sold to WJIE in Louisville, though all of the equipment, transmitters
and antennas, still remain at the original location in Millerstown. The
shortwave facility was on the air for a brief period of time only as WJIE,
and it has remained silent ever since.

3185 WWRB The Overcomer Ministry 0000-1300 UT daily En 100 kW 340 deg
McCaysville.
BlankThere is an unusual station on USB on 3185 kHz. It sounds like a
Christian Identity program and is the most hateful broadcast I have heard.
It has biblical quotes and then hateful comments against all major
political figures. It is on now. 0355 UT.

I'm surprised you were surprised, as WWRB is the only SWBC station in the
world on this frequency, and specializes in hateful programming. If you
had not heard it before, consider yourself fortunate.
USB? Should be AM [mode]. I checked 3185 kHz at 0638 UT Jan 15 (when
Brother Scare is on), and it was DSB, both on LSB and USB with full
carrier as far as I could tell. Did you have the remote receiver in USB
