ABKHAZIA Recent military action in Georgia prompted me to check SW from<br />

the area. Heard Abkhazia low powered transmitter on 9494.76; in absence of<br />

9495 stations can hear it in Russian-type language, lots of Russian-type<br />

folk music from <strong>04</strong>00 past 0530 UT. Not an easy catch, but you can try for<br />

it.<br />

ALBANIA Check of the Fllake MW services tonight Oct 9th. See the unusual<br />

big OFFSETS in frequency of minus 620, 200, and 350 Hertz:<br />

1214.38 kHz at 1710 UT CRI Beijing in Romanian. Heavily disturbed by Voice<br />

of Russia, Bolshakovo 1215.00 even frequency.<br />

1457.80 kHz at 1720 UT CRI Beijing in Italian, slight QRM by co-channel<br />

Asian program from London U.K.<br />

1394.65 kHz at 1840 UT TWR Serbian program, very strong even here in<br />

central Europe.<br />
