RESOLUTION AUTHORIING THCLOSING OF A MUCIPAL STREET(S), °RATP .
MERCER STREET FROM BERGEN AVENU TOTURS AVENUE
BEGING NOON TmJSDAY SEPTEMBER 22, 2011 AN ENDING 10:00
P.M. SUNAY, SEPTEMBER 25, 2011 AT THE REQUEST OF ST. AEDAN'S
CmJCH FOR TH PUROSE OF A PARSH CARIVAL
WHEREAS, the Division of Engineenng, Trafc and Transporttion has received an application
from St. Aedan's Church to close Mercer .Street from :iergen Avenue to Tuers Avenue beginning Noon,
Thursday September 22, 2011 and ending Hl:OO p.m. Sunday, September 25,2011 for the purpose of a
Pansh Carival; and . .
WHREAS, in. accordance with the.. provisions of Section 296-71 and 296c72, a steet may be
temporarily closed for a block part or any recreational event to be conducted within an area not
exceeding one city block under certin conditions; and
WHREAS, when one or more of the requited conditions for a street closing are not met, in
.accordance with Sections 296-74 (B) the Traffc Engineer may recommend to the City Council that one
or more of the requirements of Sections 296-71, 296-72 and 296-73 be waived; and
WHREAS, the. request to close Mercer Street does not meet one or more of the requirements
set forth in Sections 296-71, 296-72(B)(i)(8) and 296-73(D) as the street closure is being held on a
weekday, the sta and end time exceed what is permitted and the street wil be closed more than 24
continuous hours; ànd
WHEREAS, the closing of the aforementioned street(s) wil not affect public safety or
convenience,and in accordance with the provision of Section 296-74 (B) and the applicant has made a
request to the City Council that one or more of the requirements set fort in Sections 296-71, 296-72 and
296-73 be waived.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Municipal Council via adoption of this
resolution authonzes the closing of Mercer Street from Bergen Avenue to Tuers Avenue beginning Noon
Thursday, September 22,2011 and ending 10:00 p.m. Sunday; September 26,2011.
