RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AN EXTENSION OF A CONTRACT ON A MONTH- TO-M
WITH FINCH FUEL OIL CO. FOR THE FURNISHING AND DELIVERING OF UNLEADED
GASOLINE TO VARIOUS LOCATIONS

OF THE FOLLOWING RESOLUTION:
OFFERED AND MOVED ADOPTION
WHERES, Resolution 08-569 approved on July 16,2008 awarded a one (I) year contract
in the amount of $1,0.8 I, 195,50 to
Finch Fuel Oil Co., 648 Schuyler Avenue, Kearny, New Jersey 07032, for furnishing. and delivering unleaded mid-grade gasoline
tò lhe City of Jersey City (City); and
WHEREAS, the contract was for a one year term beginning 011 July 1.2008 and ending on June 3~ o1U09; and
with the same terms and conditions for two (2) one
the City in accordance with N.J.S.A 40A: II-IS; and
WHEREAS, .the bid specifications included an option to extend. the contract

WHEREAS, the City exercised the two options periods: (I ) .the tlrst option commenced on July ¡, 2009 and terminated on Jur:c
30,2010: (2) the second option commenced on July 1,2010 and terminated on June 30, 20II; and
WHEREAS, the City is in the process of revising bid specifications for furiiishing and delivering unleaded mid grade gas to
various locations and expects to receive bids by September 20 I I; and
WHEREAS, N.J,S.A. 40A: 11-15 authorizes the extension of a contract when a municipality has commenced rebidding prior to
thètime the contractexpiies; and .

WHEREAS, the total cost of the contract extension shall not exceed $80,000; and
WHEREAS, it is necessar to extend the contract with Finch Fuel on a month-to-month basis not to exceed three (3) months
effective as of July 1,2011 and ending on September30, 20U while the City completes the bidding process for a new contract;
and .
WHEREAS, funds in the amount ot$80,000 are available in Account No. 01-20 (-3 ¡-434c208, P.O. No. 102240,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Municipal Councïl otthe City fo Jersey City that:

1. The Mayor or Biisiness Administrator is authorized to extend the contract with Finch Fuel Oil Co. for
furnishing and
delivering unleaded mid-grade gaioiine to various locations.
2. The contriict will be extended on a month-to-month basis not to exceed three (3) months effective as oOu!)' 1,201 I
and ending on September 31, 201 1.
3. The total cost of the contract extension shall nòi exceed $80,000,
