Resolution Commemorating the Life and Deeds of<br />

Council as a whole, offered and moved adoption. of the following resolution:<br />

studies at Zion Bible Institute in Providence Rhode Island and Rutgers University<br />

in Newark, New <strong>Jersey</strong>; and<br />

WHE, Erw Lanier, Sr. accepted the Lord at an early<br />

WHERE, Pastor Erwn Laier was the founder and pastor of Good News Bible Mission<br />

Church and Dean of Good News Bible Mission Institute. He provided a ministr<br />

of love, faith, and hope to the <strong>City</strong> of <strong>Jersey</strong> <strong>City</strong> and its surrounding areas for<br />

more than fort years; and<br />

WHERE, Pastor Laier and church volunteers often served the congregation and<br />

community through specialized miistries includig a hospital ministr, a senior<br />

ministr, a prison ministr, a telephone ministr and an aparent<br />

ministry; and<br />

WHERE, Pastor Laier was partered in marriage and in minitr to the late Sister Shirley<br />

Laier; and<br />

WHERE, Pastor Erwn Lanier was an honored role model and inspiration to all. He<br />

provided instruction, guidance, direction, support and friendship to ministers<br />

from all over the tr-state area and beyond; and<br />

WHER, the Municipal Council of the <strong>City</strong> of <strong>Jersey</strong> <strong>City</strong> recognized the longstanding<br />

ministry and communty servce of Rev. Dr. Erwn H. Lanier and on July 14,<br />

2010, adopted <strong>City</strong> Ordinance #10-088 dedicating that Dales Avenue between<br />

Logan Avenue and Broadway also be known as Pastor Erwn Lanier, Sr. Drive;<br />

and<br />

WHERE, Rev. Dr. Erwn H. Lanier depared this life on July 5, 2011. He left treasured<br />

memories in the heart of many. He was the devoted father ofErwnJr, Errold<br />

and Michael Lanier; the dear brother of Ernest and Edward Laer and the loving<br />

grandfather of Errold Jr., Kiera, Emmanuel, Brianna, Tyler, Maleka and<br />

Marquera. He is also survved by many lovig nieces, nephews, relatives and<br />

friends.<br />

Now, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Municipal Council of the <strong>City</strong> of <strong>Jersey</strong><br />

<strong>City</strong> deenis it a fittng and proper tribute to commemorate the life and deeds of Rev. Dr. Erw H.<br />

Lanier and offers sincere condolences to his family, congregants and frends.<br />
