SAFETY COMMCATION BUILING FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC
WORK! DIVSION OF BUIDINGS AN STREET MAINENANCE
COUNCIL
THE FOLLOWING RESOLUTION:
OFFERED AND MOVED ADOPTION OF
WHREAS, Resolution No. 10-464, approved on July 14, 2010, awarded a one-year contract in the
amount of $48,600.00 to Chuk's Professional Cleaing for janitorial services at the public safety
communication building for the City of Jersey City (City), Deparment of Public Works/Division of
Buildings and Street Maintenance; and .
WHEREAS, the bid specifications provided the City with the option to. renew the contract for two
additional one-year periods with the renewal contract price being the preceding year's contract price as
adjusted according to the Federal Consumer Price Index published by the Bureau of Labor Statistics in the
months of May 20 I 0 to May 20 I I; and
WHREAS, the contractor has been performing the services in an effective and effcient manner; and
WHREAS, the total cost of the contract renewal is $49,572.00; and
WHREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:l 1-15, the City desires to exercise the first option and renew the
contract for an additional one-year period effective as ofJuly 15,201 i and ending July 14,2012; and
WHREAS, funds in the. amount of $10,000.00 are available in Buildings and Streets Operating
Account No. 11-01-201-26-291-314.
NOW, THREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Municipal Council of the City of Jersey City that:
I) The Mayor or Business Administrtor is authorized to renew the agreement with Chuk's
Professional Cleaning for janitorial services at the public safety communication building for
the Departent of Public Works/Division of Buildings and Stret Maintenance;
2) The renewal contrct is for a one-year period effective as of July 15,201 i, and the total cost
of the contrct shall not exceed $49,572.00;
3) Pursuat to NJ.A.C. 5:30-5.5(a), the continuation of the contract afer the
expenditue of funds encumbered in the 2011 calendar year temporar budget, shall
be subject to the availability and appropriation of sufcient fuds in the 2011

the subsequent calendar year budget; and
4) The award of this contract shall be subject to the condition that the vendor provides
