AGREEMENT
This Agreement dated the day of , 2008 between the
City of Jersey City, a municipal corporation, with offices at 280 Grove Street, Jersey City, New
Jersey 07302 ("City") and Eric Bernstein,
Esq. of Bernstein & As?ociates (Special Counsel").
. WITNESSTH, that in consideration of the mutual covenants set forth, the City and Special
Counsel agree as follows:
Scope of Agreement
Special Counsel is' hereby retained as an independent contractor to provide the City of
Jersey City with legal services in connection with litigation, labor and employ~ent matters for the
period öf July 1,2008 through June 30, 2009 .
Affidavit of Services
SpecÎal Counsel shall submit a. monthly affidavit of services to the Corporation
CounseL. The affdavit shall specify in detail the services rendered and the time spent on those
services.
Consideration
A. For the above services, Special Counsel-shall be compensated at the rate of
$l25.00 per hour, including expenses. The total amount of this agreement shall not exceed
.$75,000.
B. The Special Counsel shall provide a monthly statement for services rendered.
The Special Counsel shall submit to the City administration no later than the tenth day of each
'month art affidavit of services specifying the total number of hours worked/performed during.
