Offered and moved adoption
WHREAS, Drvig while intoxicated creates many dangers to all who use the steets of the
City of Jersey City; and
WHREAS, the New Jersey Deparent of Law and Public Safety has recognzed this danger
and has awarded the Jersey City Police Deparent $13,452.14 under the Dru Drivig
Enforcement Fund (DDEF 2010); and
WHREAS, the Dr Drivig Enforcement Fund admisters fuds to Muncipalities to combat
Drivig Whle Intoxicated; and
WHREAS, the City of Jersey City desires to combat D.W.!. and has established a Driving
Whle Intoxicated Progr; and
WHREAS, the Division of Highway Trafc Safety has awarded the Jersey City Police
Deparent a tota of $13,452.14; and
WHREAS, the fuds will be used to provide overtime patrols to combat Driving Whle
Intoxicated including checkpoints and roving patrols; and
WHREAS, the Jersey City Police Deparent would like to accept the award of$13,452.14
from the New Jersey Division of Highway Trac Safety, Dru Drivig Enforcement Fund
2010.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Muncipal Council of the City of Jersey City
that:
1. The City of Jersey City is authoried to accept the $13,452.14 award from the New Jersey
Law and Public Safety; and
2.
