To fud the Jersey City Police Deparent with the ficial support from the U.S.
Deparent of Justice's Bulletproof Vest Parership Progr to purchase body aror.
4. Reasons (Need) for the Proposed Program,. Project, etc.:
There is a need to replace police offcers' body anor every five years.
5. Anticipated Benefits to the Community:
Equipping police offcers with body anor increases offcer safety and saves lives while
serving the communty.
6. . Cost of Proposed Program Project, etc. (Idicate the dollar amount of City, State and
Fedèra Funds to be used, as well as match and in-kid contrbutions.):
The program wil reimburse 50% of the City's purchases of body armor. The
remaining 50% wil be funded through the State's Body Armor Replacement
Program. Permission has been authorized by both Federal and State Grantors to
do so. However, BVP has also allowed agencies who have experienced a fiancial
hardship the option of waiving this match as long as documentation is provided by
the highest city offcial at the time of the reimbursement request. Total award for
BVP 2011 wil be determined upon the review of this application.
